Any Critics Out There?

i enjoyed Is Life
unusual vocals - perhaps a bit too strong in the mix, but i admire the uniqueness
how many singers are there on board anyways?
 
Yep the main, of many, vocals is way too up front.
THe beginning guitar is a little too strident & trebbly. It could use some mids or a different voice altogether.
Apart from that this'll be come a good piece with some work.

Thanks for the replies and advice. I think that tune has maybe 3 vocal tracks, all me btw. I've never really tried to make a good recording, I just hit the red button and try to make a song. All of the vocal tracks are just rough takes while I try to flesh out a melody and lyrics. For that matter the instrumental tracks are the same thing, I just plug in and go to try to get something going without really a worry about getting a great recording. Rather I try to flesh out a song then I might back up and try it again a couple times. I always start with guitar, take a couple cold runs recording as I try to make something up. Then I might back up and start over as I flesh out the structure of a song. Then sometimes I experiment with different vocal textures like in IS LIFE. Sometimes I start with lyrics ideas I've jotted down, sometime I just kinda wing it as I go.
