Any comments? Suggestions?

I uploaded a sample of the pre-production of a song of my band.
(we are looking for a signer so...there is no vocals ...oh and we also dont have a bassman so, I tracked the bass )

I'm just sharing the developpement. This is not a "real" recording, we just wanted to hear our songs without playing them...you certainely know what I mean (I hope )

We did this quick, fast, we didnt take the time to check many mic placement...so here the description of the recording precess/gear:

DRUM: DW

26" kick : Senheiser e602 (there is no hole in the resonant head of the kick, so the mic was about 6 inch in frond of the kick.

Chad Smith Snare: SM57

Cadeson 10" Snare : CAD95

14" Rack Tom: PG56

18" Floor Tom: PG52

Overheads : MXL 1006


BASS (Ibanez SRX): Whirlwind IMP2/Amplitube

GUITAR (LesPaul): Digitech 2101a tube preamp's direct out.

Maybe it's because I've been listening that shitty chessyrecipe shit, but that's definately one of the highest quality recordings I've heard on these forums, sounds really great! The one thing I'd suggest is that there's another insturment behind the chords you're playing at I think it was maybe 30 sec. in, bring that up a little, the full chords with the thick distortion drown it out. Other than that, bring up the bass a little and find a vocalist, you're set!

Sounds pretty good to me.

Put some vocals on it and post a full length version.
 
yeah well, we are looking for a "Mike Patton" for the vocals so... could be long before we get one.

Ask Strohmslag....he's from Germany....but he does a fairly good Mike Patton impression. Where is he, btw?
 
I dunno who/where he is, but I'm pretty shure he's far from me!! I'm in Montreal, Canada
