Hey all-
Just purchased a Audiophile 24/96 card, and am looking forward to getting a grip on decent home recording. I'm using SF Vegas as a multi-track, and also have SF Acid. I was thinking of upgrading to Acid 4 (have 3 now) for VST support, but I've been seeing some bad stuff about crashes, and that Acid may not be a good choice.
I'm planning on purchasing Sonic Reality's Sonic Synth, and a LE version of Sample Tank also came with the Audiophile card. I don't plan on doing any sequencing except maybe for the drum tracks - all else will be played live and recording right into Vegas.
What would be a good and economical option for using VST? Should I bother and upgrade to Acid 4, or purchase something else? I want to be able to play samples and the soft synth stuff, and record the sounds into Vegas.
Any advice, opinions, etc appreciated. I've been researching, but my head is spinning.
