I'm not really a musician but I love to sing and write my own song lyrics... I want to record myself but I don't want to spend a bundle on this small hobby so I want to find a microphone that is simple to use and can plug into a usb port that has acceptable sound quality, and isn't too expensive. Any suggestions?

Also, I downloaded audacity already but I was just wondering if any of you had any other recommendations for other programs that could be useful to me, Thanks a lot!! :]

I used to use a Samson Q1U Dynamic USB MIC for demo material (vocals and mic'ing a loud guitar cab up to record guitar tracks).

Worked fine.

Not tried it with Audacity, It worked great with Apple's Garageband. Suprisingly enough though it DIDN'T work with Logic Pro nor could i find a driver that would make it work.

I think either the one mentioned by the chilli or this one would work fine for what your after. Maybe preference leaning to chilli's choice seeing as its condensor (vocal perference)

thanks a bunch!

that is just what i wanted thanks a lot!
