but, the only thing I can suggest is to find the closest one manualy, (I do this to make sure the distance/proximity setting is set right ), first pick a mic for the source and make it the same distance you recorded at, now put that same mic and distanse in the modeled side, what this will do is set it active/flat, so in other words, say you had a U87, picking a U87 for both source and modeled should have no effect on the sound (check this by switching it in and out of the chain) it should sound like a U87, if not than the proximity or levels are off. what your going to have to do is go though all the mics and find the one that has the least amount of effect when set-up this way, then use that as your source mic.
