Another under $....... mic/preamp question

I know there have been alot of questions regarding mics under one price or another, but still, here comes mine:

What do you think It's the best mic for vocals (rap) under $1000, and what would be the best preamp to go with it, also with a price tag of arround $1000 (but not over)?

My forte' isnt in $1000 pieces, but i heard some work done by RE with a Neumann TLM103 and a DaviSound TB3 that was killer......

They don't make microphones for rap! j/k
Hard to go wrong with a large condensor mic. I'm partial to Neumann's.

Thanks for the reply's guys. I'll check for some reviews on the gear you suggested. Lol, I know they don't make mic's for rap/hip-hop vocals, but rapping is different than normal singing microphone wise. I am interested in getting the warm vocals I hear in songs from Wu-tang or L.L. Cool J. for example. Those vocals have a kind of round, warm tone to them, and since I'm not that great arround an eq (concerning vocals) I thought I'd better go with a mic/pre that delivers that tone.
