Hey People. I'm totally digging this B1...and no, I don't work for them.

Here's a little war song I cranked out last night Using the B1. It's probably the most serious song I've written. (by the way, don't jump down my neck for being for being pro this or anti that...The song kind of wrote itself after watching CNN and placing myself hypothetically in the place of a soldier)...and don't try to adjust your speakers. The song has spliced in pieces from CNN last night. Oh, and if you don't like the work F*CK, you might not want to listen to this (it's in there a few times).

by the way...it's my typical mix of instruments: acoustics, voice, bass and drums. Voice, acoustics and shaker were all done with the B1...no other mic used.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

I don't mean to bust your balls or anything, Robert, but we do have what's called the mp3 clinic, where people post this kind of thing. It's just due south a ways. Nice work, by the way.

I have some tunes you can listen to where I used mics, too. :D

Hey Chessrock,

I know what you mean...as you know, I'm well aware of the mp3 page, and I don't typically like to do these cross-over things, but I've found the response and help from the "microphone page" is usually more better and more helpful than the mp3 page.

thanks for the "nice work" comment by the way...

great recording

Very clear. All that done with one mic on the drums?

Damn...this one kind of popped back up out of nowhere!

But yeah, I must sort of apologize for the "drums" as listed as an instrument here. It's actually the Boss Dr. Rhythm 770 (or whatever their most elaborate one is)...that and the bass (didn't mic the bass either) are literally plugged directly into the recorder. unfortunately, I don't have easy access to the drums. I actually tried to mic drums a year or so back with a pair of SM58's and it came out sounding like the guy was banging on a bunch of oatmeal boxes...So I scrapped it for the drum machine which is way better than I could record at the time. It's nice because I can pretty much program it however I want. I'd be interested to try it out now with the B1 and the MXL990 I've got now. I'm a little better at mic placement now as well.

Nice job - the guitars and vocals sound even better than So Cold, and I was impressed by that.

Any tips for mic placement with the B1? I'm assuming you're still using the Audio Buddy and Taylor Big Baby. Thx
