I have to stop watching the news...makes me write something like this...I won't say this is ABOUT George Bush, but I'll dedicate it to him...it's called JAWBONE OF AN ASS

I tried something new on this tune and I don't know if it worked. I wanted it to sound like many people singing, but it's just me, so I tried changing my voice a little on each track and using slightly different eq's and different settings on my pre as well as different delay and reverb settings. If anyone has any ideas, tips or tricks to make that work better, it would be well appreciated.

Aside from political agreement...

that is freakin rockin'! I love the sound you got on that snare!

My only complaint is I would like to hear the sizzling guitar riffin' counter-melody during, say, the 2nd or 3rd verse, before the lead solo.

Stellar work-I'm downloading this to my iPod...

Hmmmm..not a bad idea. This tune isn't written in stone, I just finished it about an hour ago and did a quick mix. I'll keep that in mind, it can probably use some spicing up.

Thanx for the suggestion and I'm glad you like it.

Well, cool tune once again. Love the way the bass plays with the drums. I too would love to hear some more guitar. I think the singing stuff came out well. I think what you did worked almost as good as getting several others to sing with you. Nice funky beat to this.

Sweet.

Man,you sure can kick 'em out Rami...wish I could come up with cool stuff that often! This rocks as usual,I kinda agree with the previous post that some more guitar would probaly kick this rocker up another notch.I think the vocal/chorus sounding thing sounds cool as well. You rock man!

Thanx guys...I'm addicted to writing and recording these days. I just feel that if I stop, I'll lose it. So even if I might be mixing these songs down before they're really finished, it's ok, I can always change whatever I want as time goes on. For example, I will be adding more guitar fills in the last verse. It's a little too much "formula" the way it is now, it needs more spice to it. Thanx again, guys, I love the feedback I get here, not just the positive stuff, but the ideas and suggestions are priceless.

For those who care...I added some leads in the last verse. It was so obvious and I probably would have realised it needs it after leaving the song alone for a few days. But 3 or 4 of you heard the need for it right away, so I thank you. Hope it sounds ok.

I dig the funk. The rhythm is very Frusciante sounding...very Blood Sugar era. However, my favorite part are these lines:

You’re paying lip service to Jesus
But you blow the Devil on your knees

G-Dub loves the cock.

Oh man oh man! The bass in the into is just super cool (I know I know, it continues thru-out the song). I love the drums, the bass and the gutiars on this.

Very rockin'. The tune is very nice too. Dude, you're some kinda trippin' with these tunes with a new one coming out every week.

Thanx Invisible...Nice to know someone's listening to the lyrics, too. I love the Chili's. One of the few (and I can't think of the others) bands not from the 70's or earlier that I actually listen to. That's quite a ompliment to me.

Bubba, thanx buddy. Yeah, lately, I just spend all my time in the studio writing and recording. They can't all be winners, but so far I haven't scared anyone off, and when I have nothing, I do a cover...thanx bro.

Same here. I religiously listen to their entire catalog - minus the self titled & one hot minute.

I'm currently pretty big into the Pixies as well. I'd forgotten how cool of an album 'sufer rosa' was.

Hey! Who's giving out the stars??? hehe...5 stars??? OK well, here goes....

There are so many people to thank I hope I don't forget anyone...I'd like to thank the Academy, my agent....um....I've lost my train of thought...:)

I'm giving out the stars. I remember last time someone was going around giving out stars. But then I thought, "Would just one person giving 5 stars give the whole thread 5 stars all the way?"

I mean wouldn't it have to build the reputation? Or is it just an average of all responses?

So I experimented!

You forgot to thank God, your family, your friends, and you forgot to thank Dubya because if it wasn't for him, you wouldn't have had the song. :p. And you forgot to cry like Halle Berry. :p And may be you could have thrown in a beepable word like Bono.

:)

Or I could have done Sally Fields..."You LIKE me!!!...YOU LIKE ME!!!!"

(Actually, I would have loved to have done Sally Fields...especially in that nun's outfit :) )

Sally Fields? Me know nothing about this Sally Fields.

Actually I just googled for the picture. I do remember the Mrs. Doubtfire stuff. But otherwise, who is she? I guess it's in old timer thing? :p

I never saw the show either, but she used to be "The Flying Nun". I've seen pictures...that's enough for me.

Haha, thumbs up on the dedication ;)

Yeah pixies rock, I'd check out Surfer Rosa or Doolittle. Good crazy playing there.

Anyway, on to what I'm here for... the track!
Yeah man, I'm down with this funk! Great bass sound. I'm getting the chilli vibe too. The multi voices sound. For whatever it's worth, what I usually do is record the usual vocal, then a backup or two in slightly different voices/EQs/reverbs, then to top it off, I do one take where I step away from the mic and just let it go, yelling or so. I'll turn that real low in the mix, but I like what it adds to the choruses or whatever.

I've only heard the version with the leads. I like it. Out of personal preference for funky stuff I think thick leads with heavy wah pedal sound cool. Just what'd I'd do, then again I'm addicted to my wah pedal.

Cool stuff man. I dig :D

Thanx Snaker...I was going to go with a meatier sound, but then I thought it's not really a standard "funk"...I wanted some rock in it, I wanted that contrast. I would have loved a wah wah solo if it was more traditional funk. But it's a funky beat with a nasty message and some swearing, so I went for my own sloppy, razorblade type of leads to give it some slime. Thanx alot for the tips on the multiple vocal. It's pretty much what I did, too.

This is some funky shit man  ...
very RHCP, I can dig it... even if I'm sober :D
Cool chorus nice setup with the multi layered voices, tight guitars and bass.
Drumming is Pure class as allways.

Man You truly are a music factory :D

great soloing in the end.

a great authentic rock track Rami...

congrats on an other smashing song :)
