Another tired question about P4 vs Athlon 64

Performance is probably a wash. But for recording I would go with the AMD64 simply because it runs cooler and therefore runs with slower fan speeds which translates to quieter computers. I run my Zalman fan at >2000RPM and still keep the CPU under 50C at max load. Try that with the P4.
