Yes, Greg_L has been very helpful. Thanks for your support also!
My main focus is just getting the best recording I can and doing minimal mixing for now and trying to listen to all the small nuances from my monitors. I feel that I need to go back to basics and stick with minor EQing or best of all not EQing at all. No plugins, no compressing or limiting - just straight up mixing.
My first breakthrough is realizing that dynamic mics kind of suck for me and do not capture the sound I want. Everything thing sounds fizzy and inaccurate. While this song was kind of clean I mostly do more aggressive punk sounding guitar and two condenser mics are giving me the tone I want and also capturing the natural sound of my distorted amp.
I hope to post more creations soon.
