Just got my Sonar 2 xl and audiophile 2496 installed on my computer.

I have the 2496 OUTS going to separate channels on my mixer. I am getting major crackling in my playbacks within Sonar. But if I listen to the same waves in a separate wave editor, the crackling doesn't exist. Am I missing any settings.

I've gone into options-->audio and swapped out my SB Live with the 2496. I don't think it has anything to do with the SB since the second wave editor playback is fine. Must be Sonar.

Which drivers are you using? The new WDM driver from the M-audio site works great for me, but be sure to run the Wave Profiler after making any driver changes. Did you run the Wave Profiler when you installed your 2496?

mbuster said it... :)

First, make sure you installed latest WinXP driver. Then run the wave profiler. Select the Audiophile as the output, mode, etc. Close SONAR, and restart SONAR. And sometime, just in rare case, turning off the PC, and restarting Windows will get rid those annoying crackle :) Have a try :)

Yes, wave profiler was run.

I'm not at home right now so i'll try some of these things out.

I installed the driver off the included disc. Didn't update it from the internet. I'll check.

Fixed.

For some reason, the feed to my headphones line is much stronger than all the others. I had a reduce the gain on the headphones to eliminate the noise. All is well. thanks.
