One Hit Wonder
I came across another new feature in Sonar 2.0 (little by little I'm starting to feel better about the $80 for this upgrade :) ).

One of the annoyances (to me) in prior versions of Sonar was that the grid in the Piano Roll View was locked into quarter notes. Apparently in 2.0, you can change the grid resolution to other choices. I think this is a great feature for editing midi drum tracks.

Here's a message from Sonar's product manager on the Sonar newsgroup
The grid resolution can only be changed in SONAR 2. Click the small black arrow to the right of the "Show/Hide Grid" button, and you will see the available resolutions.

The paperwork included with 2.0 advises to leave 1.3.1 on your computer until you are sure 2.0 is working properly.

Sonar 2.0 installs in it's own subfolder, so you can have both versions on your system. I currently have both installed with no apparent problems.

I am a little concerned, though, that when I uninstall 1.3.1 it will end up removing some plugins, or DXi's, or other features that are common to both versions. I'll let you know when I decide to do this. For now I don't need the disk space, so........

thanks...i was never the type to be a cautious person when sonar 1 came out i instantly erase cwpa9 to use it..guess i'll do the same thing prolly...another thing how does the new file system restructure the old wavedata? or it doesn't?

Hey dachay2tnr,

I installed 2.0xl about a week ago and got rid of vers 1. Rest assured, all the plug ins and soft synths stay where they are.

Are the Sonar 1 directory still there?
I saw that Sonar 2 used my Sonar 1 dir. for plugins and stuff...
