Spotted a mic on Ebay made by Lanier. Looked like a copy of a SM53/54, no switch, silver finish. For $39 I figure what the hell and buy it. Side by side with a 57 it sounded much better. Smoother, low handling noise, good detail. It's going in my instrument mic box. Tried to research "Lanier" found very little info other than the mic was made in Japan. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if it popped up.
