Another newbie introduction

Hi all. I've been lurking here for a month or so, but had to register when I saw a question I knew I could immediately answer. So here I am. I'm a bass player by trade, awaiting entrance to law school. I'm just getting into home recording, and value a LOT of the information I've picked up here so far.
And no, I don't care what the best mic for rap is, or the best condenser under $100.
