Lost Cause
Just wondered if anybody would be interested in playing with mixing and mastering something.
We've got some rough demos on NWR http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=2045&alid=-1
but since doing them we've improved our performances quite a lot.
I think what I have in mind is recording all the tracks dry and flat (onto my VF80), and letting anybody who is interested have them as .wav files. That would be too much for the internet but I could burn them all onto a CD and put them in the post (no problem mailing to the US - I'm in England).
I am a newbie but have no problem getting takes up to near 0 without clipping. Would have both mic'd and DI'd gits and bass, drums off a DR770. With vocals I seem to be getting nice results with an ambient mic (in addition to the usual close one!) which captures the nice natural reverb we have in our room. Obviously that would be a separate track which you could use or discard.
Would do this over the Christmas break, if anybody is interested. Guess you would have to like retro blues
