another general midi question.

hey, i have my midi hooked up. its an ordinary yamaha keyboard. i have it hooked up in fruity loops. theres one problem. when i press one key my 1st channel plays and when i press another key my hi hat plays, and so forth.

i want to be able to select my 1st channel and play every key of it rather then pressing another key and have it playing another channel. help please. thanx in advace.
 
Bring up the Akai DR16 (or whatever the number is) preset. It's made for what you are describing.

Then, by reverse engineering, you can learn the secrets to making your own similar presets/soundbanks/loops...
