Hi everyone!
My name is Pedro, I'm a brazilian beginner/starting producer and I really need some help!
I have this uncle in LA who can send me things and I'm upgrading my homestudio to get better quality on my work (jingles, soundtracks, etc.), but i don't have many options here..

I have $3000 to spend on this, and my choices untill now are (These are all things that i know, but here a Tampa in the store is like $1130 dollars! that's why buying there is better!) :

- a KrK bundle from musiciansfriend http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/KRK-RP8-Studio-Bundle?sku=600689

- AKG C4000B

- M-Audio Tampa for preamp/compressor

- M-Audio 1814 Firewire (i will use the 8 channels for jams, drums demos, etc)

-Notebook MP6954 Intel Centrino Core Duo T2050 1.6GHz/2gb DDR2/120GB HD

So is this set going to do a good work?
Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks already for your patience and sorry about my english, i know it sucks!

It looks like a good selection of equipment, although the KRK package comes with two mics, the Perception 200, which is a pretty decent mic for vocals, acoustic and electric instruments, and the AKG C-1000, which some people find is overly bright and strident, but can be used for acoustic instruments.

Anyway, since the KRK package already comes with the Perception 200, I'd recommend not buying the AKG C4000B, which some people also feel is not the best mic for the money. You might consider buying a pair of other (different brand) small diaphragm condenser mics or large diaphragm condenser mics for stereo mic'ing drum overheads, or acoustic guitars, or piano, or vocals, and a dynamic mic for snare drum, or electric guitar amp, or vocals. This would give you more tonal variations.

Best of luck with your new studio!

thanks a lot for the answer!!!
About the drums overs, i'm not really thinking on recording drums yet.. But the bundle it's very cheap, even with de c1000 s.
So can I really do great work with the perception 200?

If your recording environment (the room that you use for recording) is "good sounding", and if the talent (musician or person speaking) is good, and if your recording process and technique are good, I think you can make very good sounding recordings with the equipment you are planning to buy.

Each time you make a recording, you will learn more aobut the equipment and the process of recording, so your recordings will sound better as you gain experience.
