If you play a bass through a GUITAR tube preamp and you like the sound, is it bad for that preamp too play bass through it? (Please excuse however dumb this question might be) Thanks

Well first there's no stupid question, only different skilled questions. And no, it shouldn't harm your preamp, the signal is still much lower coming from a bass than line level. Plugging a bass in a preamp is common.
