Son of Yoda
I have to get this beast to the replication house via Dropbox and I have a crappy wireless internet connection, so to minimise the time it's going to take I'm inclined to zip the files up rather then send them unzipped.

Is this a safe/standard thing to do?

Cheers

DDP 2.0 does have a checksum feature that helps identify if the files get corrupted. Most likely it's safe, but I would ask the mastering house if they think it's okay.

I would absolutely positively without question and/or exception zip the files together.

Thanks... having all sorts of trouble generating the file from Reaper though. Weird, I've done tests and no issues but whilst the file got created OK the checking process as per that video that one of you two posted a while back falls over and doesn't create the WAV file that I can use to invert and play against the master to check it nulls.... kept failing to create, getting DOS error messages etc. Real pain. I have a sneaking suspicion that I need to stick a few blank frames at the end of the render in the time selection to make it work, but I'm guessing. I mean the image.dat file could be OK, it's being created no probs by Reaper, but I'm loathe to send it off, seeing it's my first attempt, without being really sure...

I think I've finally got it, but now the master file is 2 secs shorter than it should be .. had enough for one day, will take up the cudgels tomorrow night and see what's going on. Lost weekend!

Thanks guys.

Make sure that you're not losing your pre-gap (the 150-frame / 2-sec gap before the first track's start marker) somewhere... That's important.

Yeah, as soon as I posted I thought "2 seconds!" but that wasn't it. Because it all kept failing I just started reassembling from scratch adding a track at a time (I've made all the "sound" decisions in the actual mix) and it's just me getting more aggressive with fade outs and lead ins etc. over the course of the album...

Anyway, I now have a full master track that appears to function correctly with that ddptools DOS set, so forwards! :D

Thanks
