Another "cheapest interface" thread

Heres the deal, I used to record from my mixer into my comp soundcard. It did allright and served its purpose, however the PC crashed and long story short I now operate solely on my laptop. I tried running my mixer into my laptop but as you can imagine the soundcard is not optimal or comparable to my Pc soundcard (which was marginally terrible).
I am going away for a year to work in Europe so I can afford backpacking through Europe
I need something small and portable...oh yeah and cheap! It will be one acoustic and one voice simultaneously mostly. Everything else can be tracked individually after that. And it needs to be compatible with reaper....and Vista.
Suggestions?

Better to save your pennies and get a GOOD $400 interface than a $200 POS you'll have to replace.
