My sound playback is fine...sounds crystal clear through CEP or whatever.

However, when windows sounds play, like "critical alert" and such...they sound really noisey and kinda, shattered...

It's like the Aark isn't good at playing those sounds back...SBLive! sounds much better on them through same headphones...

any ideas?

Oh, also...I have a Q10 - when I do the direct input Hi-Z on like channel 7...I get a significant buzz which records onto the track. Anyone else seen this? Guess I will have to call them about it.

I'm not sure about the playback of Windows sounds. One of the common recommendations for computer recording is to disable Windows sounds since they can sometimes interfere with reocrding or playback. So mine are off.

As for the buzzing, I get that too (I have the Q10). In my case, it is coming from electrical noise from the computer monitor getting picked up by the guitar pickups. If you turn the guitar, step away from the monitor, or turn the monitor off the buzzing either goes away or is at least reduced significantly. The direct input buttons on inputs 7 and 8 amplify the effect.

oooohhh....yeah...

When I swithed to channel 8 instead, it seemed to go away a little bit. But, come to think of it..

There was a huge flourecent light on in the room at the time....

60 cycle hum - I am sure that was a contributor.

How do you feel about the Hi-Z? I feel like I should be able to get a useable rock bass sound with it...but so far just havn't found the right touch of tone on the bass, and EQ. I want like a nice U2/REM sound.
