Below average musician with lots of new time on my hands. Thought I'd have some fun with PC -Recording.

Used the basic SB card (since upgraded to a Delta 44) and Cool Edit 2000

Want some basic ideas, tips, thoughts on mixing. I have no basis but have been reading this BBS a ton in the last few days trying to pick stuff up.

Track 1 - rythm guitar (acoustic)
Track 2 - rythm guitar (acoutic with effect)
Track 3 - drum loop from web (free)
Track 4 - lead guitar (acoustic with effect)

Thanks in advance for ALL ideas, etc.

GT . . .

Now I really feel a newbie.

Since I posted it and check it I saw that the link was not there and have been scrambling to find out how to do this. I thought I had attached it in the Attach file section. Anything I am missing?

I'll try and attach again.

Please be gentle :)

xman,

First off never feel a newbie, it's illegal.

Just type it seperately, right in the thread.

Don't forget your www's and your http's and the like.

I know how you feel, I went through this in the beggining too.

I think you also have to do something about the download enable, as right now it says "members only" - I'm not a memeber, but I used to have one of those jackets when I was a kid. ;)

Xman,
I would like to hear the song once you mix it and add the vocals as you mentioned on the website.
As the song is right now, I think the "power chords" are too loud and the acoustic guitar melody needs to come up some more.

Other than that, seems like a good base for a vocal over the top. It would be easier to comment once it's all there (I am assuming you are still looking to add vocals like the website says???)
