Annoying Sharp Sound When Singing High

I've browsed through all the posts.... here's my conclusion:

The room is small, you are playing too loud.

You are abusing the PA system, by trying to make everything loud.

You are pumping the bass through the PA... a big no-no, get a bass amp. If that is not an option, don't expect big thumping bass from the PA.... keep the bass down.

You are playing too loud...

Now tell the drummer. "YOU are playing too loud" (if he refuse to tone it down, ask him to get an e-drum)

Have I mentioned that you guys are playing too loud...

This scenario actually happens in jamming room all over the world....

thanks for all the help. I went to GC and returned all of it and I got a better mixer EMX66M and 2 smaller speakers BR12's. they are actually better at handling the mids, just not good in the bass area of course. but all i need is decent pa set up for practice and i think ive got it now. however, the fuzzy sound is still there, so it turns out the speakers i returned were not broken. maybe i am just imagining it or something, it could also be the mic cable im using. hm weird. its not really that audible i think i can live with it.

this says to me that it's either the room or something in the source, since it's been there through 2 completely different PA systems.

you sure it's not one of the drums (usually snare) or the room itself? most rooms are bad rooms for sound.....especially with PAs involved.

Hey Leeking..went to your songs...I loved 'I Am Saved'...and 'You Are Love' is good too...The 1st song though was like hearing nails on a chalkboard..I take it a female vocal???...or you just super HIGH ? But even the songs I liked , I almost didn't listen too because there is a loud static or fuzzy sound wrapped all around everything... ...What caused that?
Is it from having volume cranked beyond speaker compacity.? probably a Stupie Newbie assumption ..but I will ask anyway...Is there pie in my eye..?
I am interested because I am hoping to put something down by the end of the year, trying to gather cause and effect info. Thanks...eurt
