Man, about 1:20 things start to get way intense. Wow. Fractals.

Perhaps some of the early volume swells are a bit sudden.

I'd love to have a whole CD of this stuff.

I hope you can tell that I love it. :D

Who the heck is Grieg?

(uh-oh, I think I just asked one of those questions).

This piece seems pretty kick a$$. The only thing I'd also mention is the volume ups and down. The downs are pretty alright actually since they build up but every now and then the buildup is quite loud for where you set the vol. :)

Man, you're one of those classical sonata thumping musicians that will soon have FLStudio dancing at your command. :)

Oh, excuse my mis-use of all terms relating to classical music.... I don't really know anything about that. :)

Thanks for checkin it out, Mr. Creep and Mr. Bubba. Yeah, the swells are a bit much right now. :o

Who the heck is Grieg?

Norwegian Composer. This is from a piece called "Peer Gynt". I will eventually do the whole piece, 2 of the mvmts are among the most famous things ever written. One ( "morning") is used in 100s of commercials.

Fruity Loops is pretty darn groovy, I was really getting into it today. Its fairly ease to grasp.

Good to see you still walk the path less trodden David.
This is bipolar but that's twice the fun.
A nice way to get your loops fruiting. Very enjoyable.
Speaking of "This piece seems pretty kick a$$" My favourite Grieg is The Death of Åse (compulsory score reading in compulsory general music classes in the 1st year of high school {1970} & my reason for wanting to saw away at a 'cello) I know that is probably a very boring piece but I love it. I can't imagine what you could do with it.
Oh, & speaking of CDs. Your little disc gets regular rotation in my domicile (when the wife is out unfortunately - her taste is em, different to mine).

Very interesting...did you build the loops yourself, using the keys? (I have no idea how FL works...)

It's a very spacey tune....probably something the Star Wars band would play late on a Saturday night.... :D

Thanks for listening, Ray and Ed.

You will find out soon, I am almost done with it. I have laid down all the synths, I need to lay down the strings. I am emphasising the "death" aspect and it sounds very cold and heartless.

It's not as complicated as it sounds. Its not that much different than my normal stuff, I just played the parts. FL is doing all the cool sequencing tricks on its own.

David,

You recording these on a piano using MIDI interface or by hand using the piano roll? Just curious. Since I don't have a MIDI interface module, I have to do it by hand. Which takes a while. And I have to constantly walk over to the keyboard, play it, remember the down beats, and walk back and try to type it in.

I am playing these on Keyboard. I am an average keyboard player, no Rick Wakeman, so I edit a lot. :D I dont like piano roll, I dont get it. This type of stuff would take forever.

This sounds like keyboards on steroids :D Really cool stuff... Lots of different effects from the sounds of it. I think you and bigbubba re the only ones I've heard using this here (except maybe drums?). Can't wait to hear more....

:) :D :) :D

Lisetning on headphones...pretty trippy!!!!Really like the effects/panning , glad Im not partaking in any substances right now...this would be pretty intense :p !
Iv'e messed with fruity loops and it's alot of fun....haven't clicked on it for awhile...might have to revisit it after hearing this....very cool, nice work!

Being Norwegian I should know this piece, but unfortunatly I dont.

I really Reckon Grieg as the greatest musical wonder that has come out of Norway.

Btw I visited his hometown today, drove by his Birthplace.
Nice little monument they`ve put up there :)

I really thought the piece you did was very cool though, nicely arranged with the vivid effects.

Now let me hear you Dovregubbens hall!!! (Hall of the mountain king). :D :D

Thankx for listening Gerry/Birthday Boy :D , Variaxman and Naka.

Its half done. Mountain King is part 4 of this piece, this is part 3:

1. Morning
2. Ases Death
3. Anitra's Dance
4. Hall of the Mountain King

The Anitras Dance will not sound like the current version. Its going to be a hybrid of real strings, the fruity loops stuff will be altered and be more texture than melody.

Looking forward to hearing it, mate.

I see you also do Morning, that piece touches every Norwegians heart  , specially the ones abroad, it really makes you see the fjords and the mountain sides.
Just beautifull :)

I can't really play piano. I can play solos on the keyboard on averagely fast speed. But no piano stuff.

The piano roll rocks if you know the timing stuff good. Or if you play long enough. Anyhoo, all my techno pieces with the tunes are written using the roll.
