I wasn't sure what to expect when I loaded it. I think I soiled my jeans. Fucking brilliant! And the tune rocks too. You really need to get that to someone and generate some cash.
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Holy Carrots, Batman.
I just got owned by that bass-player..

Just like Schlackenmeister I'd like to see the other video without having to poison my computer with quicktime.

Great job Scott.

did you go to school for this or is it like home-animation ?

Did it all at home in my studio. Iv'e been learning to animate for 25 years. Most good animators reach perfection just before they die. Its a lifetime comitment. just like music. In fact its very much like music, with the timing and movement. I learnt by studying the greats like Chuck Jones and Ken Harris. You have to train yourself to observe motion of everything in the world. You also have to observe how things get from pose to pose. Slow in, slow out. Makes it look more natural. Its a buzz to be able to combine my two favourite things in life. Animation and music.

Plus if I ever go blind i can still play guitar. If I go deaf I can still animate. If I go deaf and blind I take a big swan dive.

Scott, you're just too cool for school. I told you we're gonna get along just fine.
:D :D :D :D

Ok I'll make a .avi or .mpeg version of the second one tomorrow at work. And post it.

By the way I had a few injuries whilst acting out some of this. It really helps to act it out, observe, then animate it (with more exaggeration of course). I was in the backyard one afternoon jumping around like a damn fool with the bass and my neibour looked over the fence and said, "your a damn fool". When I explained it to him he didn't beleive me. Oh well.

Its cool to have a band that'll never grow old. And there reliable too. They live at v:\3dmodels\feel and are always ready to rock.

Its such a versitile medium 3d. I could go back into any of the scenes and move the camera to a better position and just re-render it out with the same animation. A directors dream. Kind of like perminent wet paint. It can always be changed easily. Unlike live action. Even 2d animation would have to be a redraw. Even lighting in 3d is better. When you overlap two or more spot lights in real life you get nasty hotspots where they overlap. 3d lights can go from negative light through to bright positive light. Just place a new light over the hotspot and wind it backwards to remove light. A lighting guy's dream. Simply amazing tools.

Scott,

That was brilliant, I made the whole fam damilly watch, and they loved it!!

Normally I'm a meat and potatoes man, but for this I'm glad I made an exception.

So you played all the instruments, AND did the animation, what don't you do, clean house?

My wife wants to leave me for the bass playing carrot.

My daughter liked when they got hit by the Abbey Road buss.

I thought spending two days programing my drum machine was bad, I'll never complain again.

You one bad WAMMA JAMMA!!

Sorry to keep this post going but a few of you wanted a non quicktime version of the second one. So here it is.

http://www.feel-rock.com/movies/feel_crazydiamond.avi (10mb)

I cant get as good a file size unless its quicktime, so please understand.

And thanks for all the good vibes on this one too. I think I get the __smart ass, geeky, nurd__ award for this one. Animators are professional showoffs. You have be.

Been approached and offered a contract to make a TV series with these guy's. Its like a 5 to 10 minute series of shorts with music at the end. There've got some great ideas but Im not sure if I want to go that way with them. Got till next friday to decide. Kind of spooks me a bit to have other people in control of it. I just don't know.

Great job!!!!!!!!!!! Man that was cool. Makes me wanna get that software program and do animation.

In production of the next music video. Its hard to choose which song to use because im going to hear it a zilian times over months of animating to it. Its a big comitment. So im going to post the song here to see what you think. It starts of all nice and pretty then gets goin all ugly from about a third on. If you can imagine just two of them in the acoustic bit with just a spotlight, camera panning left, crossfading into a pan to the right. Soft and subtle etc, the BAM, into it. Full on action for the rest of the song. There'll be 4 of them in this one. Iv'e just mixed down a tap track with a pencil taping on the table to the beat. I use this to animate a ball in the middle of the scene as a guide for how they move in time. Really helped on the last one.

The songs called Anniversary.

Its not mastered yet but thats ok to animate to. Had the first one mastered half way through animating it. Was a nice change. And I was able to play the first half to the mastering engineer. Dont know if it helped him, but he freaked out when he saw it.

Of course its not too late to change the mix. And suggestions on things for the dudes to do are welcome too. The wackier the better.

man Scott that rocked! :D

I checked out the Roses and the Wine but would really like to see the other one(ixnay on the quicktime). I tried your link above but my puter would not read the file...:(

Keep it up man! Encore!!!

I'm truly in awe over the genius of your work. :)

That was an amazing piece of work, and worthy of airplay on any major video network... MTV, VH1, etc.
Not only would this video and song do well, it would probably be one of the top requested videos if the public at large were to see it.

I give it an "11".

Very Cool indeed!
Holy shit!
You should send it to MTV and Comedy Central as well.
Outstanding work.
The music was awesome to boot.
Good job Scott

I'm gonna have to add myself to the list of gushers here...that was simply incredible. I only watched the first one; the second is still downloading. I had my roommate watch it, and he loved it too. Good tune, good mix, good animation!

Cool as hell Scott!
Details and timing are mind-blowing!

It,s funny I posted this music video here months ago and it slipped through without even a peep. I thought maybe there not into this sort of thing. So I post again and got all this great reaction from you all. Everyone's commenting on the timing of the music / animation and thats great. If the timings out just a bit on something like this it would be really bad.
I've decided to pass on the TV series for the time being. Have to tell them today. I'd rather keep them as a rock band and will do 2 or 3 more vids and see if they can make it out there as a rock band in there own right. Animated interviews, the whole bit. Then if they do, the TV series would be better.
I'm pretty happy the way my music writing, playing, aranging etc, and animation skills are going but I still have a lot to learn about micing, recording, mixing etc. Initialy recording and mixing was something I'd rather someone else do. But It turned out to be so much fun. I've learnt so much from this site. Its really made an audible difference to my recordings. Having a good mastering engineer who understands you is a must.
