On a second listen (to the new mix), the pitchiness isn't so bad. Most elf metal vocalists sound more like Kamelot than Excalion, so it took me two listens to get used to it.

The guitars and the rest are still quite awesome.

Thanx Steve!
To me in this case, it's more a matter of character. ;)
I could do it again, but I'm sure it will sound different because it's a different moment. We singers are quite funny in that respect.....:D
Ok, time for Eragon to fly back home.....:D

Sounds great - nice collab Ray and Joe. It combines the strengths to produce a classic piece of Rock...:):)

Thanks, Gerry! Ray's amazing when it comes to writing lyrics. Hope we can do more together.

WOW Joey!!!
Unreal song man, truly blows me away!!! Makes me feel like I'm a teenager again! This sounds like something you'd hear in a CD shop playing as you walk in. Can't get over how "pro" the whole thing is. GREAT job on everything!!!

Thanx bud, those are real nice comments...:o
I don't think it's pro, but it's good when all the hours you spend working on a song kind of pay off.

Joey the latest version is a real upgrade.
Big punching machine of a song - good fun too. Those Queen I/II metal guitars are killer.
Elephant in the room time - have you done a mix without the panned synth effect? It's a personal thing - Al stewart on Roads to Moscow has a beautiful acoutic intro that he didn't bother blending with the song - it just goes crunch & I always wondered what it would have been like had he mix the edit in better. Now, I'm not saying better ree this - I just have a bit of curiosity re the intro on thsi. It could be that the synths both sep & unite the piece - I don't knwo.

Hey Ray!
that's not a synth, it's a crunchy guitar sampled backwards. I though it would make the intro more "modern" and give it a build-up with an element of surprise.

Cool to know i's not a synth & it does add surprise: it pans, builds and is a cool psych touch too! I dig it - I just wondered if you'd done a mix without it & if it was after that you'd felt the need to do it. was it in your head from scratch or did it come to you as you were building?
I've been proud dad & played it to oodles of people - all of whom range from impressed to wow. My missus - a former early 80's record store manager - really digs it.
I'm taking it to work tomorrow (oh, I don't tell folk about my little part, I just spread the joeym word) to play as I struggle for sanity.

Actually it was in my head when I concieved the thing........so it was there from the start and kind of belonged for me. Tell them all who wrote the lyrics, wouldn't have been the same without them! ;)
and when you're struggling for sanity, always remember that ultimately, all angels will fall....:D
