wow, it'saight. never understood da need fo' so much profanity though. ya mus' be an angry youngun. ya'll is mad stupid.

kidding...

Why follow the crowd man? Seriously, like that you follow a topic. Can't you get the mesage across without the profanity. My only point is this..

My son digs rap hip/hop, etc... that's his bag, that's cool, however, his mother pays for the cd's.....I'd rather hear a song that doesn't go beep every two seconds get my drift...

I'm 40 I can choose to listen to whatever I want...I think there's an enourmous target audience out there (teens) for your kind of music, why dismiss them? I'm always encouraged by artists who can say what they have to say on some very wide ranging topics, and do it without shutting them out.
I know I focused on the profanity a little much but that's what got my attention first, I had to relisten to the musical content and mix while ignoring the words. On that front, vocals get cluttered some. If you don't already, and you are doing your own dubbing, eq your other takes differently to hav each part stand out., the delay is distracting.

my 2 cents, take it or leave it.

got your attention though right?

but yeah...for songs with little or no profanity go here Beast on Beats

the songs are "hood service", "been a while", and "lookin out my window" (just those three)

I dont make music for your son, I make music for adults whose ears aren't as sensitive as a young impressionable child's.

I would suggest soldier boy or bow wow for your son. I make music for adults whose life experiences match my own. While your on that myspace page have a look at some of the videos also.

thanks for the input

You've been a member since 2005 and only posted 8 times, one of them being your comments above?

What do you do, just log in under that name to leave "anonymous" comments?

Just curious.

Look dude. Wasn't dogging you, just making an observation. I lurk alot true, and don't post much. I wasn't trolling, I respected your musical genre, my music is all Blues, rock, and metal. It was an honest comment. No offense, just saying. You did ask after all.. dont like it, don't ask.

Good luck to you and your endeavors. No hard feelings.

p.s. I can appreciate your take on why you make the music you make and who you make it for. That wasn't lost on me.

pss. my young son is 18 just so you know i'm not talking about letting a 10 yr old listen to that kinda of stuff.....thought you might appreciate the clarification.

hey hey...i think you misunderstood my tone.

no hard feelings...i even left some information about other songs with no profanity...but you didn't see it i guess.

I even named specific songs which were not vulgar nor profane in by any interpretation of the lyrics, but you overlooked that comment.

This is one of the things that makes me suspicious. The other is how you average like 1.5 posts per year and decided to grace my thread with one.

I said in my first reply that I appreciate the feedback, which I do. Especially the part where you recommended a mixing technique (diff. eq settings for the main/backing vocal).

Thanks again man, whoever you really are!

All other comments welcome as well!

PS

In addition to these rap songs I produced and mixed, I recently managed to trade some beats for a guitar (flying "V") and made some short recordings of myself and added drums. I might post one and maybe you could help with that since it's more your speed.

I saw them. And he listens to some of that as well. I did misinterperet your tone. I am tango44 btw. For the real. lol.

Take care man.

thanks ajmauburn....appreciate that pointer. I kinda rushed through the whole album that song was on....some of the mistakes i made bother me when i listen to it, but haven't had time to remix/remaster the whole thing. Feedback lets me know if others notice them or if I'm just being over critical of myself.

Cool tango
