Oops this was supposed to be a reply to Analogs song "Postcard"........... I hit new thread by mistake and then proceeded to type all this so I'm not going to type it all again as a reply to his thread, where it belongs.......

Sorry it took me so long to give it a listen, I kinda forgot

Wow, analog, I'm listening right now.....This is good........I think the concept is really working well with the music..........The sound when the song first started with the harmonies almost reminded me of early "grateful dead".............I really dig the arrangement too...........The music when it goes "and I dream of having you around" into that little sax deal with the 3 notes right after it....quarter note quarter note half note? THAT IS GREAT!!!!!

The only thing is a hear what your saying about the sax man, it doesn't sound in tune with the guitar for alot of the parts for some reason...........especially on the part that I said was great..It would be really cool if you could get that sax thing straightened out and add some drums too maybe? I don't know much about production so I can't really say anything other than it sounds like a good mix to me......

Man other than that,,,,,

That was real good........It was very refreshing to hear something like that.....Thanx....and keep working on it............I'm digging it alot....

Hey Nave,

Thanks--This is a "sound" I'm trying to develop---you don't
think it's too dated do you????

I know what you mean about the sax---If you listen to some
of the other tunes--all basically the same style---you'll find
I've been wrestling with sax recording all along..Gina does
tune to a digital tuner before recording, but I continue to find
this tuning problem--any suggestions???

I really need a drummer to put down some slick drum tracks
which I believe this music needs---hard to come by up here..

I put together a 6 pce. last year for our local festival-guitar,
bass(me), sax, trumpet, congas and drums..I wanted the local
young people to hear a horn band live..Most of them had never
heard this kind of music before---Came off very well--one of the
local up and comers added horns to their alt/rock sound--pretty
hot!!

I do have a tape of our show if your interested. I wrote the music
and my friend Bill did most of the singing (he has natural gravel
in his voice--lucky bast**d). Just an offer if you like this kind of
music..

My tunes also need colourization---tasty lead guitar--alto sax
what have you----I think Gina make a neat pocket to play into..

I appreciate your comments on how to get this sound perfected.

Keep talking......

analog
good song you got
you don't wanna try midi drum sequencing
a good skill can do great drum track that noone can tell it's not real
cheers

Hi istyle,

Thanks for the tip.....

I would prefer the feel of a live drummer but if not I'll
have to go the midi route.

Right now I'm still writing----have 25 tunes in pre-production form
I figure I'll keep trying to get some people together, pick the
best 10 and put out a CD and see what happens--I know it's
not all that simple-----just want to keep it that way for a while...

Got reasons.......
