How do I record old LP's to CD? I have turntable, cables to connect to sound card, CD-RW internal drive and plenty of hard disc space, but no way to record over 60 seconds at a time in a wav file to transfer to the CD-RW drive. Have WIN 98 and WIN2K - could use either one, but have no software to get the recording onto my hard drive to transfer.

Suggestions?

well, there is a lot of programs to do that.
if you just want to restore your lp´s and nothing about rec music, think about if you want a pro software (expensive) or just a good software (free, demo, crack, warez, etc)

if you just want to restore your lp´s to listen it in cd in your car try:

GOLDWAVE!!! the demo version can do it.

also there sound forge xp, or your software in windows.

cheers.

software in windows

Thanks

Unless I'm mistaken, the Windows software (Sound Recorder) will only allow 60 seconds at a time and it cannot be adjusted.

Any suggestions regarding where to find free or shareware to use. I only want to transfer LP's to CD.

Actually, it can be adjusted with a little work-around...what do you do? Record absolute silence for...let's say...30 seconds. When it's done, copy that silence, and paste it over and over and over....till you get as long as you need. If you have lots of extra hard drive space, save the X minute long silence .WAV file and use it in the future as a 'template' whenever you need a long wav file.
