OK,
I am a CEP user and am still somewhat new to the whole computer recording scene. Anyway, I mainly record drums and I have a plain soundblaster soundcard. The only way I have devised to record drums (let's say 8 microphones) is to run a mixing board to the line-in jack on the soundcard. I then use 8 mics and record them all to one track on CEP. I am looking for a way to record each mic as a seperate channel (So I can edit and enhance each drum individually). I was thinking that maybe the Delta 1010 would be a way to accomplish this (since it has 8 analog inputs). Anyway, I would appreciate someone's response.
Thanks

Yeah, that's right - you need one channel on your soundcard for each audio input, so if you've got 8 mics on your kit, you need 8 analog inputs on your soundcard. But you need a preamp for each mic too, so that means a mixer with 8 ins as well.

It costs more to mic drums. :)

You need a good room too.

Plus drums are difficult to move from place to place.

Sure you wouldn't rather take up the violin instead? :D

what kind of mixer do you have?
and whats your price range?
and this isnt really a CEP question!

xoxo
