Alright, it's not so hot, but it's the only thing I had under 3mb:

...the highlighted url belowe doesn't work as a hyperlink that will take you all the way to the song, so don't click it, copy and paste the ENTIRE thing and it should take you right there.

Finally!

BPF,

Excellent! This is a good song, and the fact that it sounds so good makes it even better. Great recording! I really like this song!

I'll comment more later, I was just jumpin on the computer for a quick second, then I saw you posted a song, so I had to hear it immediately! It's now on its fourth play!

I gotta run, but i wanted to shout out immediately because I wondered how good your stuff was going to be, I knew it would be recorded well, but i didn't know i'd actually like the song too!

Great Job! Put up more!

peace.

Good tracks, BPF

I enjoyed your composition, BPF. Pretty Spacey! Like a lot that I've listened to over the years.
I've got questions:
1) Does the mp3 on your computer sound like the output of your recorder or the CD?
2) What do you think of garageband.com as a host? Any distasteful aspects of the host?
3) How many tracks is the recording?
4) Was the entire session recorded with all musician's present?

Thanks, BPF. I'm quite amazed at the accomplishments of our studios.

Thanks for listening guys! I appreciate the comments.

1) Does the mp3 on your computer sound like the output of your recorder or the CD?

On this song it's pretty close because it was so short I didn't have to convert the rate down to 64, but usually, no, it doesn't sound the same, or as clear.

2) What do you think of garageband.com as a host? Any distasteful aspects of the host?

In order to post 1 song on Garageband.com, you have to review 20 songs first. For your second, you have to review 40...for your third, 60 songs. That's kind of a drag, because in order to be helpful and really spend the time listening and critiquing, it requires a great deal of time. The upside is that, unlike mp3.com, your songs will show up at your Garageband site in about 12 hours. Another upside is that you get a lot of feedback from other musicians...however....because those artists, too, have to spend so much time reviewing, they rarely take the time to get very in depth in their comments.

3) How many tracks is the recording?

This recording is around 35 tracks. I bounce the first basic rhythm tracks (1 thru 6) to 7/8, label everything, save the scene as "rhythm bounce," then clear up tracks 1-6 by assigning new virtual tracks to strips 1 thru 6, then take another go with 4 more instruments. Then I bounce the 7/8 rhythm bounce WITH 4 new tracks to the other two newly freed up strips (usually 5/6)....then I label all the new instruments, and label the new bounce (which includes 7/8 + the new 1 thru 4 instrument) on 5/6 as "rhythm bounce2", then I save THAT scene as "Rhytm Bounce2,"...repeat, repeat, repeat...

4) Was the entire session recorded with all musician's present?

Yes is was, because it was recorded with only me, my $200 1979 Talkamine accoustic guitar, and my cheapo ($400) Yamaha keyboard...nothing else. (hence the "band" name: 31 flies)

Thanks, BPF

Outstanding results from such a limited arsenal!

I'm collecting equipment like night and day.
3 Basses
2 Electrics
1 12 String
1 Yamaha Synth
2 SM57s
1 Acoustic Upright Piano
1 Ampeg full Bass Stack
1 Ampeg Short Stack
Pedals
Behringer Board.

My recordings are only 6 or 8 tracks right now. I'm working on my arrangments (as always, hence my tag 'Arranger'). Trying to learn how instrumentation complements itself and working the middle harmonies out.

When I'm ready to go to bounce town, I'll have a much better understanding thanks to you.
I may decide to go the garageband route. Short reviews have one advantage - they're to the point, whether it be good or not.

Damn fine piece of work there, very original and special award for outstanding bounce achievement on the 788. I'd buy that kind of stuff

Good luck!
Rich ;)
