An interesting conundrum (but ever-so-slightly OT, i admit)

My current recording goals include a portable rig for capturing performances of classical music. While much of this will be live, and thus the acoustics unchangeable, i hope to do recording sessions in halls and churches that are not live as well; what sorts of acoustical 'solutions' can i carry with me to fix any problem-spots (i.e. parallel walls, harsh reflections, extraneous noise, et cetera) please bear in mind that, as a student, i am on a severe budget. My thought was to carry several acoustic blankets and some LERNDS - any other suggestions or ideas? i saw a portable acoustic panel in the Full Compass catalog a few months ago - i can't seem to find it again, but if you now what it is i refer to - might these be useful (sorry for the lack of specifics)
Many thanks for your input!

All of the above; and anything else you can come up with - i want something easily adaptable but inexpensive (i recognize that inexpensive and worthwhile tend to be opposing concepts) primarily small ensembles for the time being, though (at largest, a 30 member choir w/ 2-4 soli and organ)
Many thanks and Happy New Year!
