One of the more commonly asked questions here in the guitar and basses forum is some variation of "what kind of amp should I get for (insert musical style here.)"
I figured that since we all are here because we care enough about recording quality to try to better ourselves, we are in a good position to get some decent quality sample recordings of our amplifiers to help any of us who are interested in various amplifiers but have never heard them first hand.
I don't mean samples from mixed down recordings, but dedicated, stripped down recordings of real tube or solid state amps (as opposed to modelers).
I am thinking at least one sample of each of these for each amp:
1. Clean Sample (no fx, or eq)
2. Medium Distortion or Crunch (no fx, or eq)
3. Max Distortion (no fx, or eq)
4. Your personal best or favorite tone (list any effects used)
If we stuck to this format ( or if anyone has a better one) then we could all compare apples to apples.
Any interest out there for this?
