Amp "popped"...

I was playing my guitar through a Boss ME-50 hooked up to my Classic 30 and then heard 3 popping noises in succession and the volume just dropped to at least half what it was before the popping. I tried playing straight through the amp, but the volume still seems lower. I have to crank the guitar volume to get it loud which I didn't have to do before. Any ideas on what might have happened and what I should look for? Thanks!

Man, I had a frightening experience like that yesterday, a loud pop and then reduced volume on my brand new bassgear!...
That fortunately turned out to be a contact issue on a cable, nothing more..

Check the signal chain, if you haven't allready.
After that it could be tubes?..
Possible fuses are a place to start checking too.

1st rule out something with the boss (remove from chain for now) check cables... is classic a 2-12 combo maybe you popped a speaker???? wont be a fuse or a tube... almost always when one of these goes you lose the whole thing not just 1/2 vol...
