Ok, I have a serious problem. At the church I play at I run my Digitech GNX2 direct, and mono, into the PA system. Well the problem is is that the sound definately lacks compared to playing through an amp or in headphones. I know that it's not a setting in the pedal that I have to change. I was thinking about buying an Electro-Harmonix Tube Zipper, which is quite pricey, or maybe an eq pedal. Could someone please help me out here? Thank you a whole bunch! :)

how far away is your GNX2 from the mixer?

if it is more than 20feet, you should get a DI box in between your pedal and the mixer...

also, connect your pedal output to the line level input of your mixer... you should apply minimal gain on the mixer as the signal is already line-level...

The settings that you use direct into the mixer will be completely different than what you would use for an amp. This is because PA speakers are full range and guitar amp speakers are not. The best thing to do is go to the church when everyone is gone and set up your GNX2. Then adjust your patches until they sound right through the PA.

WORD !!!!!!!!!!!!!

exactely what i would have typed. thanks for saving me some time :) :)

Yep, what he said......I had to do the same thing at our church (1000 seat auditorium) I was miking my cab though the PA (E609 & SM57) and it sounded terrible! ........all though it sounded great coming out of the cab.

Then when you would get it dialed in on the mains, then you'd have to start over with the monitoring system (ear buds)......pain in the butt!!!

You know what sounds stupidly good....and STUPIDLY cheap? A sansamp GT-2 running into a Behringer Ultra-G (Red) DI cab simulator. You will be surprised at how good you can make this sound.....To me, much more real than a POD as it doesn't have those nasty transients.

Just buy a behringer V-AMP or a Line 6 POD and run straight to the P.A and be done with it...lol.
