Amp Direct To Console?

Hi, I am fairly new to recording and I am considering buying a Korg D1600. I have a Roland VGA-7 Amp. Can I go directly to the Korg from my Amps ext. outs or do I need a direct box?

I dont know that paticular amp so this is just a guess....if your amp has a headphone out you could us that for starters.I would use a direct box for most other sends to your recorder.A nice simple DI box that you can use would be the H&K Redbox..theyare reletivly inexpensive.

If you use a H&K Red Box you can use the speaker outs also...besides the usual outputs .

The VGA-7 is a modeling amp so you probably will get better results with the Line Out (in fact, I betcha it has stereo outs) than with a direct box...
