amp compatible with cabinet?

hey guys
was wondering if anyone could give me a concrete answer on a topic i've been thinking about
i have a vox ac15vr amp and at the back there is an external speaker output is this to connect the amp to a cab?it also says 15watt 8ohm
does this mean the amp can only take an 8ohm cab or that it can take either 8 or 16ohms?
also what sort of cable would i need to connect the two?links would be much appreciated

Okay, I'll be helpful. You can use a 16 ohm cab if that's all you have but the amp won't put out as much power. DO NOT USE LESS THAN 8 OHMS!
