Hey, seems I rem reading somewhere you have a Vintech 1272. How do you feel about it? Does it make a good bass DI?

Sorry it took me so long to reply, I didnt see this here.
The Vintech is a good pre. It doesnt sound exactly like a 1272, but it's a good pre nonetheless. I like it on drums, not so good on voice, ok on guitar *sometimes*. As far as a bass DI, well you can be the judge of that: http://www.ilyamusic.com

You shoulda just said "listen to the CD" 
I listened to the whole CD yesterday twice (I like number 3 the best, by the way) The bass sound was most prominent in the 1st song, and it sounds pretty good. Sounds like a really good DI for bass.
I don't think you ever did tell me what kind of chains and stuff you used and what medium you recorded to. Fill me in.
