man, this guitar is really a "player". i was so impressed.
Two thumbs up on this company.

As I took it down from the Pawn Shop hanger and played it, I immediately assumed it was around $500 used. (with the paint job, I guess someone spent some custom money on it, probably $1200 I thought...) "too expensive I thought to myself", though it played so nice and was the closest thing to replacing my previous EX-US Strat axe (due to finances in May).

Fhk it...I was looking for a $80 beater that was playable, like my old Squire I had for 15 years...but most I played in that price range were just such pieces of shit. "what can one expect at this price range?" I thought.

So all guitars are relevant to what we've played before...and I've played some really, really nice guitars; I've had so many guitars, including Gibson Les Pauls, Fender Tele's, Fender US Strats..and numerous off brands as Electra, Ibanez, etc...

With me its always the feel first, the groove,
the electronics and functionality next, cosmetics last.....But to the point,
I was ready to leave the pawn shop, and asked what the price was on the "flag" guitar and the reply was "$100".

I then had to look further into it, did I miss something? being burnt before at Pawn Shops, more playing and tuning/ de-tuning, flipping switches, and turning pots was done....frkn gorgeous, for $100?

So I dropped $100, $20 over my $80 gear addict "fix" budget, but it was a rare find..er..so I thought until the Googling started.
Turns out it's not a super price I got, as far as a "rare lucky" finds go.
These Indiana Tele/Strat mix guitars are only $150.
So my $100 was no huge savings, being used...but thats cool.
online Solid Alder, Maple, yadayadayada. Add a lot of great reviews, though not many to be found, not many Forum posts on this company either.

Anyway, TWO THUMBS UP for a Cheap Beater Guitar that is frkn amazing!

And IMO can perform with anything at any price as far as playing and sound.
What a damn nice guitar!!!.... funny too, I won't ever need to sell it for financial reasons because it isn't worth anything! doh!
hmm...probably why I had my Squire for 15yrs and my beautiful cheap Yamaha acoustic for 20yrs..while my US Les Pauls and Us Strats never stick around long?

Comparisons:
In comparison to the Fender Affinity Tele I played which wasn't far from the $1300 US tele.. this American/Indiana/China US Flag Tele.. kicks ass!

Build Wise? Longtivity?...well, I don't play live anymore...thats probably where the better built quality of materials, really shines. I never argue, physics and materials and science guys; there's a real reason some expensive stuff is expensive.

Anyway.......Leo, the Man....the Fender dewd of gear;ust phenomena...
he started all this Tele, Strat, P-Bass, Jazz Bass,... lord? and amplifiers too!! frkn amazing... beyond belief almost.

But after getting this guitar......I think this Indiana Guitar company is doing a better job of copying the Original Fender stuff than some of Fenders own sub-sub-offshore- where ever the parts come from divisions!

time to go play....

Just what America needs...... more shit from China.

I quit looking at Pawn Shops--every one I've ever been in seems to think every guitar they have for sale is a collectible one with premium prices. They were charging the same price for beat-up Squire basses that MF was charging for new ones straight out of the box.

I've tried several models of Indiana guitars, and was surprised at their potential. I don't think I'd take a bone stock one on a gig, but their prices are low enough, one wouldn't break the bank in modifying it/upgrading it, to suit their tastes. And for being born, raised and still living in Indiana, there'd be a bit of "built-in kitsch factor," for an Indiana artist to play Indiana guitars.

Player or Collector or both?

I can't defend every guitar ever made by the Indiana Company, but this one is frkn great for $100! this is about the cheapest I ever paid and it's frkn nice to play.

I had just sold a beautiful, fhk..gorgeous! US Strat, after 6yrs. It sucked and was depressing, it was soooo nice it was depressing to let go. So this is the main guitar I was comparing too, a pretty high standard.

It's all about the feel and groove factor..which is very subjective, and I know what I like, so that helped. Maple neck low-med action etc..

Still amazed that in this cheap price range, this guitar holds its own far and above many I played in the stores, including $1300 ones. Again a subjective opinion, but IMO true.

yeah the connoisseur's can tell it's a piece of shit without playing it,

Here's a connoisseur Quiz:

Can You hear if the paint is 10microns thicker than another guitar?
Can You hear if the pickup is 6000ohms or 5798 ohms?
Can You hear if the pickguard is made in Malaysia, Taiwan, or Indonesia?
Can You hear if the Alder is from Canada or Iowa or Ukraine?
Can you tell if it's a China made tuner or a US made tuner?
Can anyone listening to your tracks tell if its an expensive G or not?

All I know is this guitar plays beautifully, the sounds are just fine, the price makes it extremely impressive imo. Maybe I got a "good one", as is often the case with the low price range instruments?

I've owned Electric..Ibanez, Electra's, Gibsons, Epi's, Fenders, Squires, Yamaha, Ovation, Fender copies, hollow bodies, sold body's, strat, tele, LPauls, SG, and many I can't recall.... this guitar holds its own to all of them.
I'm not a beginner, and not a pro...somewhere lost in the middle ground.

Anyway, with this "initial" Positive crap being said about this guitar...
I'll post if the tuning pegs fall off in my hand too.

Aren't they ridiculous. I was trying to sell a vcr once that i never used anymore and finally I took it to a pawn shop. It was a $50 jobber from wally world and before I left the place they slapped a $99 price tag on it and threw it up on the shelf. Fucking ridiculous.

Decatur, IL was probably around 80k when I was born.

That's practically a metropolis! The town I live in now is 7K!

Probably about 30K this weekend though

One week gone by. Two thumbs up still. Anyone looking for a cheap guitar should try out this stuff...I never heard of them before?

As I read some articles, it's an American company, design set by a guitar luthier/maker and they have their "design", which really isn't their design as it's a Tele copy body with more of a Stratocaster neck,er... not that its not a tele neck they designed from Leo's design but then the company takes this "product that was designed" and has it built in china to their specifications...er..

well really Leo Fenders specifications, unless the American Indiana Company just happened to dream up the exact same guitar body and neck design as Leo did 50years ago, not that it couldn't happen...but it doesn't matter anyway. It's a frkn TELE BODY WITH A STRAT LIKE NECK!

Its built in China, but so is most of FENDER stuff? Leo's shop in Fullerton California is sitting empty and up for lease last time I drove by it!!
I don't think there's anything in Fullerton anymore of Fender other than the museum?

Its a great guitar. I tweaked on the neck, re-tuned, replaced strings, drank some iced tea.

with all this RELIC fad going on, you think if I beat this guitar up, maybe threw it down the stairs, left it out in the rain to corrode it might be worth more? up the value???

I could call it the BUCK OWENS RELIC US FLAG SIGNATURE SERIES CUSTOM CLASSIC for $5800, I think I'll go put out my cigerette in the middle of the neck... later
