Hi,
I'm writing just to let you know that my problems with hanging the system especially the Aardvark DP 2496 are solved altogether. My conf is as follows: Gigabyte K8NS 939 Ultra wit x2 3,8Ghz and 2x1024 Geil sticks, radeon and some of course the aardvark direct pro 2496 audio card.
The reason why the system was unstable was very simple. Once, I was making my computer quieter and removed the very noisy northbridge cooler and put a zalman ZM-NB47J in that place. It was in last winter. And now, it is summer, the first summer with this configuration for me, and I figured out that the temp on the zalman has increased very much. After opening the case, the zalman was so hot I could not even touch it, and so were the hdds. So I installed one more arctic cooler oposite the hdds and left the case opened. The temp droped and the system is extremally stable.
Of course I tweaked the bios settings a bit, turning off everything unneeded and tha last thing I did was installing the amd drivers for optimizing the x2, but probably the most importent was lowering the temp on the northbridge.
That's it. I just wanted you to know, esepcially for those who use the same MB and maybe have some similar problems
cheers
