AMD or Pent.?

I am thinking about using the AMD processor and rolling my own machine. I am also thinking about going with Pro ToolsMPowered. They (PT) have a Pentium as part of the requirments...anyone use an AMD with this platform with luck and success? Are there any reasons you couldn't use an AMD?

I think that is done (maybe?)as part of a contractual deal between the two companies, and the doesnt have much validity in terms of how well it will perform. There are AMD processors on there, here(right hand side):
