It's amazing how loud the drum set is to the nieghbors when everything is moved to the attic (compared to when it was in my basement)...

is there anything that i can do to treat the attic - VERY cheaply...? haha.

just wondering, i may or may not take action here...

shackrock - when you were in the basement you were probably surrounded by brick or concrete walls underground - i.e lots of mass - to get your attic right you'll have to add more mass to your walls. i.e. layers of sheetrock.

cheers

The very best thing you can do IF your not doing any recording and have few K ...buy a digital drum set, oh so nice.

I know these are BIG ifs but my buddy has improved a ton and isn't restricted to specific sounds.

Just a thought :)

Been there. Done that. There is NO substitute for the real deal.

Took my tricked-out & upgraded V-drum set, and traded them in for DW's. Haven't looked back since.

I've got some special "studio grade" dirt here that can do the job with only 2 feet!

For an extra $2/square foot I can line you up with some really nice WA-grown sod, too.

How many yards do you need?:D

I'd buy some, but you'd probably ship some young'ens down with it...
:)

oc703/705 with some sheetrock...thats all i can reallt think of

celotex makes a product called soundstop...put it between two layers of sheetrock

Of course. You want to shovel all that dirt by yourself?

Or you ask your neighbours to move the livingroom to their basement. That way you would have to do nothing!
