here are some lyrics i wrote yesterday...

they are alot different than what i have written before so i dont know if i m ready to take this giant leap into this style of writing... i just dont know if this is so deep that its shallow you know? it is a thin line...

take a look and a yea or a nea would be super appreciated...

toiling away at his numbers,
his head filled with proofs and signe.
though fallen leaves, snow, spring, and summers,
he reckons to decode the designe.

you mad, mad mathematician,
you’re living your life 3-2-1 (2-3-1-2-3).
but there’s more to life than counters and questions,
and you’ll know when your numbers are run.

found: one antique exponent,
wrapped up and riddled in time.
encrypted with notions of quotients,
since he himself was in his prime.

so mad, mad mathematician,
you’re living your life 3-2-1(2-3-1-2-3).
but there’s more to life than counters and questions,
and you’ll know when your numbers are run.
and you’ll know when your numbers are run.

no need for indepth critique(unless you feel obliged) but a yes keep it or no lose it would be great...

You're Not Wasting Your Time... Very Clever

Don't know why but it reminded me of Paul Simons 'Sounds od Silence' Do you play an instrument as well? Don't stop writing. You're good.

nah this is pretty good, just depends what music was on the back of it. you are NOT wasting your time pal!!!

These lyrics show that you can write well. Whether you want to continue with this style can only be up to you (it'd be a shame if you abandoned it, though). You have a grasp of what needs to be done with lyrics that you can apply to any style. Maybe you should try to finish this, polish it, and post it again. Most lyrics need to be worked on for a bit, just like most music.

thanks guys... must just be a little songwriters insecurity... ill have the recording posted soon....

+1 for keeping these - they are well written. Looking forward to hearing the recording.....keep us posted!

Agreed. Cool lyrics - could be polished a bit, but I really like them.

i posted the recorded version over in the mp3 section...

i mean....you never know....no one should think that they're wasting their time. I mean look at all the one hit wonders that the industry has had. Hell, in these days all you need is one hit and its like you are fairly rich for life (as long as you don't blow money on foolish stuff)

No one who writes is wasting time - if they enjoy the act of creating an art form. Do people get rich or even make a decent living as writers (vs, performers) - rarely. However, one can always make a buck doing something and still have time (which is not wasted) to write.

I enjoyed the lyrics very much, clever use of words and an original concept (Lord knows it is hard to find new things to write about).

Based on these lyrics - you should indeed continue to write!!!

Never wasting time creating lyrics, music. Comes from the heart, it's good when it does. People 'outside" the dome will think it's always a waste of time. They just don't get it..

Those are some good lyrics man. Keep it up.

way decent lyrics. good job. writing will almost always reveal a bit more into a different world for the writer and those who read the piece. thats what makes it good.and as for those who are on the outside-they seem content with a good read from a clothing label or rhyming the contents of a cereal box- well...another story in itself-

1) If you like what you're doing, then you're not wasting your time.

2) (This works for pretty much everyone): You are and always will be your own worst critic.

3) Never eat spam cold.

4) Never eat spam hot.

5) I do not like spam. I will not eat it Sam I Am!

6) Never be too nervous to make a fool out of yourself. Someone will get the joke.

7) Never be scared to be wrong. Being wrong is how you learn to be right. (Or is it left? Sideways?)

seems like it would be good for a disney computer animated film
