I Like Rusty Spoons
i am currently trying to produce some of my own work. i want to know if i have a good mix to record all my guitars at (since this is my own work i'm doing none of the rest of my band will be joining in on this). since i play punk rock nothing will change too much (tone wise) please don't mind the vocals on this. if you're wondering i am trying to play "Oh Boy" by buddy holly. i was playing live just to try and come up with song ideas, unfortunately when i broke into it i couldn't keep my vocals along with it. i plan to re-record the vocals with a much better AKG mic instead of my piece of shit peavey. i played direct from the amp (which can be bad but i had the hookups right) into the 4 track.
in case any of you are wondering i have
yamaha mt-400 cassette 4 track
fender stage 100 amp (used on the track)
peavey rage 108 amp
epiphone les paul (used on the track)

PS, you've been warned about how bad i sang it.

It's not terrible; part of the problem could be how you mastered the sucker since there is really annoying crackling which means you probably mastered at too high a level to whatever you mastered to (probably something digital). Anyways, for the guitar:

You are off to a decent start but the guitar lacks any kind of character, I would mic the amp and put a room mic in there for good measure. It sounds too weak how you have it now.
