Maybe my ears are fooling me, I just recorded PROJECT on my alesis hd24 in 44.1 24 bit. It seemed to be fatter and less trouble to mix and get a sound I like. Make sense? Or is it a mater of I had a good day that session. Jim

I don't think your fooled at all... Recording at higher sample rates (in theory) should produce better quality audio.... BUT!

How much better?

Realistically, to get the full benefit of a high sample rate recording (192 etc...) your converters should be the best... (ie Apogee 8000SE) your monitor chain should set you back at least $5000 and, if you have $100,000 invested in gear (a modist setup for High sample rate recordings IMHO) you should spend at least $200,000 on your mixing room (ie design, treatments, acoustic alignment, floating floor etc...) Clearly something that is beyond most of us here!

Then, and only then can you get the full benefit of high sample rate recording...

Keep recording at 44.1
