Hey Dragon,
I looked through your pages on digital recording and saw that you mentioned the mic jack was useless on most Sound Cards. I am using an SB AWE64 Gold card and I am micing my acoustic guitar with a lavlier microphone, and it seems to sound ok to me. Am I missing something here, or is it possible that this could actually work well?

While you could almost certainly get better sounding recordings using better equipment, I think the point of home recording is getting the results you want by doing it your own way. Just don't expect anything close to professional using the mic jack on any Soundblaster card. Not any I've ever used anyway.
