Am I good to go for re-amping with Guitar Rig 5?

I'm going to be getting komplete soon, and it happens to have Guitar Rig. I'm not getting komplete for guitar rig, but it definitely sweetens the deal. So I might as well record a direct track just in case I want to re-amp in Guitar Rig (which I'm sure can be done, right?)

I've already got a Livewire ABY box to run my bass into different rigs.
Will running the second out from the ABY to the interface be fine as a DI, or should I run it through something else first?

That should work. Don't mess with the direct track. You want an *unprocessed* signal. The correct term, however, would be an unprocessed signal for separate processing. "Reamping" involves another real amp, not a digital amp modeler. You cannot reamp something without a real amp in real acoustic space. It's like when you set up a "stereo" track in your interface. There's nothing stereo about it. It's a form of electronic make-believe.-Richie

i have komplete 5 and just bought maschine, and its excellent

dont think of guitar rig just as a guitar processor...the FX on it are excellent..I use them on synths and for general FX...they are really quality

and just wait until you get into reaktor, thats almost limitless

Semantics.

But to answer the question, you should be good to go if your bass is active. If you have a passive bass (and that ABY switch is not active) you should probably use and active DI so you don't load down the pickups.

I plan on just doing it to the guitar, not the bass. I have that running into an amp and a hardware sim.

You are going to want to use an active DI box or at least a pedal of some sort to buffer the pickups so you don't load them down. (assuming you are using passive pickups)

Yeah, most of my guitars are passive.
So will running the out from the splitter box into my DMP3 be fine?
It's listed as a Pre-Amp / Direct Box?
I've also got a ART Tube MP, and my interface (tascam us1800) has ''guitar'' inputs
Will any of that be fine or should I buy an external DI box if it's a matter of the splitter box not being useful at all?
