I have been told so many answers, so I will post my question here...

I am using a Roland synth and recording directly into my computer using a multi-track recording program.

Is this considered analog or digital recording?

If I am correct, I am digital right??

That depends on what kind of output you're using on the Roland.

You could be generating an analog signal and then using the computer to enter the digital realm, or you could be entirely digital if you're transferring from the Roland to the computer via a digital connection (S/PDIF).

Alles klar Herr Komisar?

Whatever the transfer method, the recording itself is digital if done by a computer. Your recording takes the form of 1s and 0s in computer memory. There is nothing recording amplitudes on little magnetic strips.

So yes, you're right.

YOU are most definitely analog.
The multitrack on your computer records digitally, though. The conversion is done at your soundcard.

You are neither..... you are human.... that is, unless you're a machine...............

You ever get the feeling that you're the only human on the bbs, and that all the other members are really just autoreply bots? You ever get the feeling that I'm a bot, and you're all human? I do sometimes. :)

We already know you're a bot. I created you for TFC and you got out of control and started posting on BBS's. :)

No, but seriously 011100010 1111000 01 0001101010 01011100 0101 1 101101110100 0 (sorry, I meant 111101110100) 00110001010101111 01 111 01 10001 10101.

:D

You sure? Cause I was just thinking: 11101101 11011011 1101 && 00110110 10100011 1110 = 10 1011 => 111 0111 1110111 1110111

:confused:

Come to think of it, I'm neither....... I'm a clone.....

Actually -- We're All Clones... ...all are one and one are all, all are one and one are all...
