Alvarez classical

I have a strange Alvarez classical that I picked up recently. There is no model number anywhere. The Alvarez logo is on the front of the headstock and is black with silver letters. The body is very nice rosewood and the tuners are perloid. The weird thing is the tuning machines are all sealed in plastic cases. Anyone ever seen one like this???
