Ok so i've tried to give the mix a bit more depth and give the drums a bit more life. See what you guys think.

I like dynamic changes you've built into the tune. Nice touch. Some of the synth parts are hard to make out in a few spots.Pretty good.

Very nice, Though I would consider this more Progressive Rock than Alternative Rock.

Cheers guys. You've no idea how much our singer would love to be labelled prog. Haha.

Trying to remember the earlier cut. Nothing wrong with the drums here. There are some places from about half way through to the end where the leads (guitar/synth) are lost in the sound. Could just be my old ears though.

Good - no mix nits here. I love the vocal treatment and the performance by everyone is top shelf.

Thanks guys, will take a look at the synth see if i can get some more clarity out of them.

It doesn't sound right (the music is fine, I'm talking about the overall recording), it lacks sparkle and sounds a bit dull, like someone took the shine off of it. At least that's the impression I get right off the bat. I turned it up but that didn't help it any. I did notice that as I listened my ears adjusted a little and the "dull" sound became a little less obtrusive, but only a little. Try making a few small EQ adjustments and see if that helps it out.

Any suggestions on EQ? Its not like no EQ work has been done so far.

It's better than the last version, but still kind of dark and lifeless.

Thanks, but im already well at the limit of my skill with mixing so whilst i agree it does sound a bit dark and lifeless, i've got no idea how to address that.

It's pretty clear, but I agree that it lacks that high-end brightness.

You want a little more high end, especially on the guitars. They're really what defines the tone, and they're pretty dark and muddy. When the synth comes in, that actually helps a lot. It's a much brighter instrument.

The screamed vocals are really buried.

Cheers, i'd actually intentionally left the guitars a bit darker to try and give the mix more depth, but i'll give that a whirl
